GRAND VIC SCRAMBLE A BIG SUCCESS...
A
big THANK YOU to everyone who participated in our biggest outing to date!
We had 144 golfers in both the morning and afternoon scrambles. A
check for $3300 was given to The First Tee Program of the Miami Valley at
the lunch buffet. We posted online the pictures that we took. Go to

OVGA HELPS THE TROOPS...
The OVGA is honored to work
with two Cincinnati based support groups, Support 4 Troops and Military
Support Connection on Operation Sand Save. During the month of May we will
be accepting donations of golf equipment, sports bottles, powdered sports
drink mixes, body powder, foot powder, bug spray pump (not aerosol) with
Deet is best), fly tapes, sun screen, freezer pops & white sports socks
for Operation Sand Save. Our donation will be supporting troops throughout
Iraq and Afghanistan. A large portion of our donation will be sent to
troops currently living in a remote area under primitive conditions in
tents with no air conditioning. The Championship Greens All-American Open
at The Vineyard, May 3rd 2008 kicks off our collection drive. Our drive
continues with stops at Beckett Ridge Country Club, The Golf Club at
Yankee Trace, The Golf Club of Legendary Run, Eagle Creek Country Club and
finally wrapping up with the Casey McAlister Classic at the Sharon Woods
Golf Club on June 7th 2008. This is a great opportunity to get that old
set of clubs, last year’s driver or the putter you hated out of the closet
and donate them to a good cause, or the next time you’re shopping throw a
little something extra in the cart for the troops. A little something
extra from each one of us goes a long way. Monetary donations are also
accepted to assist with the postage costs. There will be a collection box
at the sign in table for the events noted above. If you can’t make it to

THE FIRST ANNUAL CINCIGOLF CHAMPIONSHIP...
Sunday afternoon,
July 13, at Walden Ponds. On that date we will have our first annual
CinciGolf.com
Championship, sponsored by the local Play It Again Sports
stores. This will be a real golf tournament with USGA rules.
There will be a scratch flight and several other flights too. There
will be gross and net winners for each flight. We'll have lots of free golf rounds as a
bonus for anyone who enters the tournament. All flight winners will receive
a nice trophy and they will have their pictures on our website
"permanently" on a new "CinciGolf.com Hall of Fame" page.

LADIES INSTRUCTIONAL
LEAGUE...
The Golden Tee @ Tri-County
will start their Ladies Instructional Golf League on Tuesday, June 3, and
will run every Tuesday in June, 7 p.m. – 7:45 p.m. Four weeks of 45
minute golf clinics covering every aspect of the game. Instruction will be
provided by
Cynthia Annett USGTG Certified Golf Professional. Ladies are
encouraged to play golf after the clinics and receive one free greens fee
and two free small buckets of range balls as part of the sign-up fee.

AMERICA & FREE MINI PRIVATE LESSON...
"Play Golf America" is a growth of the game initiative created and
endorsed by the PGA of America. During the month of May, PGA professionals
will be giving FREE 10 minute lessons to the public at facilities across
the country. Jack Eifert is a PGA Head Professional and GM here at Crooked
Tree. Jack will be offering FREE 10 minute lessons in conjunction with
this program at the following days and times. Lessons are by
appointment only. Saturday, May 10 12pm - 3pm and Sunday, May 18
12pm - 3pm.

GOLF CLUB UPGRADES...
The Griffin Gate Golf Club has been transformed inside and out. Inside

LADIES LEAGUE
LOOKING FOR PLAYERS...
The Mini Brant
Women's Golf League at Potters Golf Course in Hamilton is looking for
golfers on Wednesday Night. Tee time will start at 5:15pm or 5:30pm, to be
determined. Cost to join the league is $30.00. The league will start with
a Fun Night on May 14, 2008 and normal golf after that alternating front
and back per week. We are looking for beginners to the best golfers who

SENIOR GOLF
CLUB LOOKING FOR PLAYERS...
The senior group
of golfers, called the "DIVOT DIGGERS" plays every Wednesday at Avon
Fields Golf Course, 4081 Reading Rd. The starting time is 8:00 am
and you must be 55 years of age or older. Dues are $50 and this
covers your 1st and last green fees of the season and your club

WORLD OF SPORTS UPDATE...
The World of Sports is currently under construction to improve the
lakes located on the golf course. Even though the back nine will be
closed for a period of time (available for play by July 1), the billiard
hall, driving range, front nine, and miniature course are not affected.
All instructional programs will continue as planned and private golf
lessons are always available. World of Sports is an 18-hole
Executive Golf Course open year round located at 7400 Woodspoint Drive. It
features a 25-station lighted practice range, 9 covered tees, 18-hole
lighted miniature golf course, pro shop with professional club fitting,
billiard hall, snack bar, and video arcade. For more information

Beech Creek
Golf Course is now forming a Monday and Friday league for this coming
spring. Many of you have written us and asked for open leagues, so here
it is. Beech Creek is located off of Hamilton Avenue, just north of Mt.
